First, go to the Caltex service Station at the town’s edge.
Keep going for 45 km along the Balonne Highway toward St George.
There is a big sign that says “ Charlotte Plains”; turn there.
From there, it is 15 km on a dirt road to get to the Charlotte plains.

From St George:

If you’re coming from St George and going towards Cunnamulla through Bollon.
First, you’ll encounter a Charlotte Plain sign board about 135 km from Bollon
Keep going for the next 15 km on the road to reach the Charlotte plains.

At this campsite, there is no power, but still, it’s really popular because it is right next to the Artesian Baths. It is very close to the Highway too, just 4 km away. At one time, only 9 guests are allowed per camp. Hot baths, toilets, and showers are available.

Shearer’s Campsite (Powered Camping)

The Powered camping sites are in the middle of the property, not near the Artesian Baths. You can easily reach the baths with an 8.5km drive to the Bore Head. They’re also just 2km away from the homestead.
